Your Project-Based Units!

Here you will find the:

• Task Statement - to share with students during the Morning Meeting; reference during SS/Sci time

• Checklist/Rubric - checklists for Units 1-3 to model what was used in JumpStart, and a transition to rubrics for Units 4-11 to help students to begin to be able to engage with them

• Choice Boards - put in plastic so students can reuse them during the unit, circling what they plan to do, coloring in or checking off the smiling face to show they completed the activity

• Student Skills Charts and Checklists- these help students set goals, reflect on their learning, and practice executive function skills while you observe and document growth during authentic classroom experiences.

The following chart shows how the FPK PBL units lay out across the year, in conjunction with your ARC themes. While we are not replicating ARC's themes, the PBL units will relate! For example, when you're studying insects with ARC, one of the FPK units is "Small But Mighty." Students will study how small actions can make a mighty impact; but you'll also relate it to insects. Did you know an ant can carry 10-50 times its weight? The more connections across the day, the better!
